The Digua Community is a social designinitiatives transforming abandoned bomb shelters in Beijing into sharedcommunity facilities for gatherings, events, and activities. For its secondproject, realized in an underground shelter in the Ganluxiyuan neighborhood, arearesidents were invited to co-design the spaces, offering a rare opportunity inthe Chinese capital for direct grassroots participation in local planning.
