3月20日，在由国务院发展研究中心主办的“中国发展高层论坛2021”上，清华大学国家金融研究院院长朱民表示，未来10年纸币仍然会存在，不会完全消失，但是可能会减少40%。未来数字货币可能会遍及全球。
