世界卫生组织:工作场所禁烟

每年中国有100万人死于烟草,10万人死于有害的二手烟暴露。超过一半的成年男性是吸烟者。烟草给中国造成巨大经济负担,违背“健康中国2030”愿景和妨碍可持续发展。

员工是任何企业最珍贵的财产。健康的员工意味着更高的生产力。烟草和吸烟有害健康与收益。促进员工健康是每位企业领袖的责任。

方法很简单。让所有室内工作场所全面无烟,无一例外。这已被证实能保护员工健康,也是世卫组织《烟草控制框架公约》所推荐的。

无烟的工作场所让办公室里的每个人都安全。员工在工作时暴露于二手烟的几率减为零,使得员工工作更高效,出勤率更高。无烟政策降低经营、员工医疗保健、清洁、维护和火灾保险费用的成本。一份世卫组织的研究发现,如果国家禁止工作场所吸烟,那么会降低当今中国1300万名男性吸烟者的吸烟率,从而保护600万名吸烟者免于过早死亡。

China’s businessleaders join WHO to eliminate smoking in indoor workplaces and protect theiremployees’right to health

Every year in China tobacco use kills 1million people and exposure to harmful second-hand smoke kills another 100,000people. More than half of adult men are smokers. Tobacco exacts a huge cost tothe Chinese economy, it contradicts the vision of Healthy China 2030 and limitssustainable development.

Employees arethe most precious asset of any company. Healthy employees translate to higherproductivity. Tobacco and smoking are harmful to both health and the bottomline. Promoting employee health is the responsibility of every business leader.

The solution issimple. Make all indoor workplaces 100% smoke-free with no exceptions. This isproven to protect employee health and is recommended by the WHO FrameworkConvention on Tobacco Control.

Smoke-freeworkplaces keep everyone in the office safe. Employee exposure to second-handsmoke at work is reduced to zero, making employees more productive and lessprone to miss work. Smoke-free policies lower costs of operations, employeehealth care, cleaning, maintenance, and fire insurance expenses. A study by WHOfound that a national ban on smoking in workplaces would reduce prevalence ofsmoking among Chinese men alive today by 13 million and, in doing so, avert 6million premature deaths among smokers.
